Choosing a Spouse

In 1922 she ( Elsie Lincoln Benedict ) told an audience, 

“Most people use less brains in selecting the person with whom they are to spend their lives than they do in choosing an automobile, a bicycle or a cut of steak. Love isn’t enough; there must also be understanding.”

So true... I wonder why. 

We progressed beyond arranged marriages but in the process we seem to have lost all sense of logic when it comes to choosing a spouse. 

Sure, the religious may adhere to the concept of being unequally yoked religiously,  but there are many other ways in which two people can be unequally yoked.

Benedict authored many books and had many interesting things to say for a woman living in the 1920s. 

Joe Vitale has dubbed her the forgotten Wonder Woman.
