Betrayed by Religious Dogma

Once again, I feel betrayed by religious dogma.

So here it is Monday morning and I'm just now learning about a lovely house blessing I could have performed over the weekend, had I only known it existed, and that it was being observed globally.

Can you imagine the collective consciousness power of such an event?

Just wondering why I wasn't taught about the Feast of the Epiphany and the Epiphany house blessing as a child, in my Southern Baptist Church. I feel betrayed by dogma.

I feel betrayed by every denomination that dictates what can and cannot be taught in Sunday School, which is why...

I no longer attach my spirituality to any type of organized religion.

Time-honored traditions, whether approved of by the board or not, should always be taught. We should each be entitled to take advantage of our God-given free will and decide for ourselves which traditions we will embrace.

Who was it that said, "you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free."

Oh yeah. It was Jesus - at least according to John 8:32 of the Bible.

According to Wikipedia, "Many Christians celebrate Epiphany on January 6, including Roman Catholics, Lutherans, Anglicans, Methodists, Presbyterians, and Episcopalians. Some Lutheran, Anglican, Methodist, and United Protestant congregations may also celebrate Epiphany on the following Sunday within the Epiphany week, or at another time."

The irony of the fact that this Epiphany house blessing occurs on the very day that the house of the government of the USA was attacked by some of its own citizens has not escaped me.

It's a pity that the people participating in the January 6th attack were obviously not aware of this particular feast and blessing practiced by many Christians. If only they had known and stayed home - to bless their own home.

Tampon Tim

So now they're calling him "tampon tim."  Meanwhile, we're loving the publicity showcasing the magnificence that is Tim Walz.  Gov. Tim Walz’s administration ensured that menstruation products are provided freely in Minnesota's public school bathrooms.  "This move is crucial for students who might experience their first periods unexpectedly or who cannot afford products at home. According to a 2019 study by Plan International USA, 1 in 5 girls in the U.S. has missed school because of lack of access to menstrual products." Walz also removed the tampon tax in Minnesota, proudly making it one of the few states to acknowledge the absurdity of taxing our essential health products. These are the kinds of actions that prove a politician cares about his or her constituents, and is concerned about the poorest among them.  Bravo! #HarrisWalz2024  https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-opinion/...

Ghost Proof Your Home

Halloween is around the corner and October in general is a month when strange happenings occur. I hear many tales of unexplained phenomena such as lights going on and off, knocks on the door when no one is there and sometimes just a "feeling" that someone is watching you. Is there any particular reason that spirits are more active in October? None that I can think of, except that it has been believed to be this way for centuries. However, those who know more about the cosmos, the star alignments and geomagnetic pulls may have some valid reasons why October is the bewitching month. Ghostly superstitions and beliefs exist in all cultures, and today I found a nice image that shows ways to ghost proof your home. The traditions come from many different cultures and are easy to do, except for the Kaballah thing. Click on the image to view it enlarged at the original source. Support Term Limits for Supreme Court Justices

The following is a letter I have sent through automation to write my Representatives encouraging them to support term limits for Supreme Court Justices. Feel free to copy and paste the following letter that I rewrote from the previously formatted letter that will appear in the link provided at the bottom of this article. Or, use their letter. Or, better yet, rewrite it for yourself as I have done.  When you go to the link, your representatives will automatically appear when you enter your address.  This is such a simple way to contact your representatives in Washington, D.C.  Topic - government reform or judicial Letter: Thank you for your service to our country as a representative of the people. Integrity still matters to most people. Unfortunately, we are living in an era where we can no longer depend on one's conscience to dictate or control individual actions. I, and the majority of Americans, have lost faith in the Supreme Court’s ability to act as a neutral arbiter ...
